Aguilar is a volunteer for the local Heart Walk, presented by local sponsors Arkansas Heart Hospital and Red Cap Survivor sponsor Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Subway and NutriSoy sponsor the Heart Walk nationally.
Mauricio Aguilar, 36 years old was born and raised in El Salvador, Central America. Became the Valedictorian graduate at the Military High School of El Salvador. Came to the United Stated for the first time in 1986 as an exchange student, staying with an American family in Little Rock. He received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering in 1991 and came back to the United Stated in 1994 to attend UALR. “I met my wife Stacey, a native of North Little Rock, as we were graduate schoolmates in my last summer class at UALR, ”he said. “I Received a MBA degree in 1996 and in 1999 got married to Stacey.” They have one daughter, Camila.
Aguilar has been a Subway owner for a year and a half. Currently owns 2 stores and have the development rights to build a third and new store.
“The Heart Walk is fuelled by each participants’ passion for the mission. Mauricio is a great example of how one person can use his creativity to make a great impact,” said Amanda Smith, Central Arkansas Heart Walk director. “He has taken Subway’s generous national sponsorship and taken it another step here in Central Arkansas.”
