ROGERS, AR -- The nineth annual of the International Festival is set for Saturday, June 6, 2009 from 11a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Frisco Station Mall in Rogers. The family event will showcase diversity, promoting understanding among the northwest Arkansas residents.
“Cultural groups are invited to host an exhibit booth to share their culture and heritage, or even to sell native foods and crafts. The festival committee is also seeking entertainers and performing groups interested in participating in the festival,” said Vilma Dominguez, Minority Business Development Coordinator of the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce and event organizer.
The mission of the International Festival is to promote, educate, and serve the diverse cultural interests of Rogers and Northwest Arkansas.
“The event is designed to showcase diversity in the area,” said Dominguez.
The International Festival wil offer ethnic food, music, dancing, clothing and languages of more than 26 cultural groups living in northwest Arkansas. Live entertainment, interesting exhibits and vendors offering native foods and crafts, are featured, along with activities for children.
The Rogers Festival offers sponsorships and exhibitors a unique opportunity to promote products and services to a diverse audience while demonstrating community involvement.
A committee of motivated volunteers plans and hosts the fest. To volunteer, contact Vilma Dominguez at 479-619-3186 or Vilma@RogersLowell.com .
