8th annual “¡Hola! Arkansas Health & Safety Fair” to offer free health screenings, lunch and live music

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- On Saturday, April 30, 2011, sponsors and exhibitors will be offering free information and free health screenings while celebrating “Cinco de Mayo” at the 8th Annual of the ¡Hola! Arkansas Health & Safety Fair ” at the College Station Clinic and City Center from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.



“This year’s annual event will be a step up, like no other. We are expecting that hundreds of families will gather to learn what Arkansas has to offer in health, safety, disaster and emergency, ” said Maura Lozano-Yancy, president of ¡Hola! Arkansas.



The 8th annual event will focus in providing Hispanic and African American families with effective preparedness, free health services and information promoting a safer and healthier life in Arkansas. Several doctors, dentists and nurses will be providing free check-ups and dental services.



Lozano-Yancy, added, “children will enjoy, free rides like the ‘jump gym,’ games and ice cream from Blue Bell and hot dogs and hamburgers provided by Linn’s Auto at the ¡Hola! KIDZONE.”



“Families will enjoy free healthy food, free health screenings, while listening to Mexican DJ, Rodolfo “La Sombra,” Mexican Folklore Ballet Laurita Castillo, EL “El Don del Reggaeton from Panama,” and Bongo Willie said Lozano-Yancy.



“Anyone participating in health screenings will be provided with free lunch and free soft drinks,” said Freeman McKindra interim director of the Arkansas Minority Health Commission.



“The American Red Cross will participate with a blood drive aimed to educate the community about the importance of giving and receiving blood, the give of life,” said Alan Gibson, Disaster Public Affairs for the American Red Cross – Ozarks said.
