LITTLE ROCK, AR – The University of Arkansas at Little Rock, UALR has a fantastic month of celebration to commemorate the National Hispanic Heritage Month. The highlight is the lecture of Barbara Martinez Jitner, “Femicide at Our U.S. Border: To Bea Woman in Juarez is a Death Sentence” Thursday, September 27 at the Donaghey Student Center A & B • 6:00 pm
Martinez Jitner is the director of a powerful expose documentary short film – “LA FRONTERA” (run time, 15 minutes), which is the foundation for a major motion picture entitled BORDERTOWN scheduled for an October 2007 national release.
As for the movie BORDERTOWN, it will star Jennifer Lopez, Antonio Banderas, and Martin Sheen. Gregory Nava with Barbara Martinez directs it Jitner serving as the Executive Producer.
