Free health screenings while celebrating “Cinco de Mayo”

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- This year’s annual event will be a step up, like no other. On Saturday, May 5, 2007, sponsors and exhibitors are invited to set up booths offering free information and free health screenings while celebrating “Cinco de Mayo” at the 4th Annual of the ¡Hola! Arkansas Health & Safety Fair ” at the College Station Clinic and City Center from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
“We are expecting that hundreds of families will gather to learn what Arkansas has to offer in health, safety, disaster and emergency, ” said Maura Lozano-Yancy, ¡Hola! Arkansas President.
The 4th annual event will focus in providing Hispanic and African American families with effective preparedness, free health services and information promoting a safer and healthier life in Arkansas.
Lozano-Yancy, added, “children will enjoy free rides like the ‘slide’ and the ‘jump gym,’ games from FUNDUNK and ice cream from Blue Bell at the ¡Hola! KIDZONE supported and organized by the corp members of CITY YEAR.”
Families will enjoy free healthy food, free health screenings while listening to Mexican DJ, Rodolfo “La Sombra” Puente.
“We’ll be giving away, prizes donated by our sponsors and supporters. Anyone participating in health screenings will be provided with free lunch and free soft drinks,” said Cindy Gregory of the Arkansas Minority Health Commission.
For the third year, the American Red Cross will participate with a blood drive aimed to educate the community about the importance of giving and receiving blood, the give of life.”
