Friday, June 27:
* Little Rock Mayor, Jim Daily proclaimed June 27-July 2 “LULAC Week.” Other speakers, Convention Bureau CEO, Dan O’Byrne, Ana Hart from Tyson Foods, LULAC President Hector Flores, and Brent Wilkes, LULAC Executive Director exchanged goodwill messages.
Wednesday, June 29:
* Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony of the LULAC Expo and Job fair. Over 250 corporations were represented.
* LULAC Partnered with John Tyson, CEO and Chairman Tyson Foods and Governor Mike Huckabee for a luncheon that focused on Arkansas’ Bright Future.
On the evening, during the ‘ARKANSAS CELEBRATION” at the Clinton Presidential Center, Senator Dale Bumpers and Lt. Governor Win Rockefeller welcomed the LULAC convention members to Arkanasas. Rockefeller surprided the crowd when he did most of his speech in perfect Spanish!
* On the evening, the “Mariachi Spectacular” rocked downtown Little Rock with over 5,000 attendees for the spectacular concert of the famous “Mariachi Vargas” and the all female “Mariachi Alteñas.”
* At the “Youth & Young Adults Banquet,” Eduardo Najera of the Denver Nuggets inspired the youth.
Thursday, June 30:
* LULAC Youth “Speak Out” at the Central High School.
* At the “Unity Lunch”, Janet Murgia, president of the National Council of La Raza and Rev. Jesse Jackson exhalted the attendees.
