LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Saturday, October 31 the catholic Hispanic community of Arkansas gathered at the grounds of the Arkansas State Fair for the largest annual celebrating faith, health and cultural heritage.
The event started in the morning with a free Health Fair opened to the public.
Among the services offered was the H1N1 vaccine free to children and pregnant woman, health screenings like blood pressure, medical and community information provided by the Arkansas Department of Health and pharmacy students from UAMS.
ENCUENTRO HISPANO 2009 is sponsored and organized by the Hispanic Ministry, part of the Catholic Diocese of Little Rock.
The Arkansas’ Bishop, Anthony Taylor, offered the Mass.
More than 50 booth offered information and services.
